These pointers will help you get ready for and pass any Oracle certification exam. The particular links utilized in the content are suitable for 1Z0-1000: Oracle Database 11g: Administration I, however the advice is relevant to the exam.

Tip #1 -- Begin with test Details page in the Oracle Education site

Write lower test duration, quantity of questions, and also the passing score. How long you'll have per question varies broadly between tests. Use the amount of questions and exam duration to calculate it (77 seconds for 1Z0-1000).  Every question comes with an equal weight on Oracle exams, so that you can calculate the amount of questions that may be missed but still pass test (23 for 1Z0-1000).

Tip #2 -- Click the Exam Topics page for that exam

You need to verify that it's one you want to capture.  Perform the topics seem sensible to do the job you need to do (or wish to accomplish)? If that's the case, copy these topics and paste them right into a file on your pc.  Here's your listing of knowledge to understand.  Before you are comfy with all the topics, don't schedule test.

Tip #3 -- Discover the Oracle documentation highly relevant to test

I normally do a google search for something similar to ’oracle 11.2 Documentation’.  Pull lower the PDF copies associated with a manuals for that exam or bookmark the HTML versions.  Most manuals also provide Mobi and ePub versions that you could download for the e-readers.

Tip #4 -- Browse the ‘2 Day’ documents

Oracle has produced numerous ‘2 Day’ documents.  A good example may be the 2 Day DBA.  If you're a new comer to test topics, and there's 2-Day document highly relevant to test, see clearly.  The document won’t cover all the important information, but it'll be considered a reasonable starting point.

Tip #5 -- Don't Google for study materials by exam number

Using Google to look for study materials using the exam number approximately useless. Many of the hits can result in brain dumps.  Use Google to look for individual exam topics in the list (e.g. ‘Describe methods to tune instance recovery’) and you'll have better luck

Tip #6 -- Take notes

I've discovered it very helpful to help keep some notes while I am studying. I write lower key details, parameters, instructions, etc. which i think I'll see around the exam. The action of penning this information lower helps me to commit to memory the data. Also, after i have finished my research, getting the notes handy to re-read helps restore in your thoughts everything I studied.

Tip #7 -- Arrive early for the exam -- very early

I attempt to get at the testing center an hour or so or even more before my scheduled time. I'll go to the check-in attendant to make certain that things are ready in my exam. Then I'll return outdoors the middle and browse over my notes until only a couple of minutes prior to the exam. This ensures I've a lot of the data I'll need in a nutshell term memory.

Tip #8 -- Don't skip questions

When you get to some question and you've got no clue concerning the answer, select one randomly, mark the issue and move ahead. You cannot manage to spend your time agonizing regarding this. Unanswered questions will always be wrong.  Answering it a minimum of provides you with an opportunity of setting it up correct.

Tip #9 -- If you possess the smallest doubt, mark the issue!

Mark every question that you are not *positive* that you simply nailed. Be conservative. If there's any uncertainty, measure the level. When you are getting towards the finish from the test, a screen will open with all the marked questions. Compare the count of marked inquiries to the quantity you calculated that may be missed in step one.  For those who have marked well underneath the calculated number, you most likely passed the exam.

Tip #10 -- Use any remaining time for you to look at your work

For those who have the required time, retrace the marked questions. I've frequently discovered that later questions contains information that will permit me to reply to ones I had been uncertain about earlier. Even if this isn't the situation, returning them over again may permit you to get a couple of additional points.
