This is it for the oldest arena in the NBA.
With the Golden State Warriors trailing 3-2 in the NBA Finals to the Toronto Raptors, Oracle Arena will host its final professional basketball game on Thursday when Game 6 arrives. The Warriors are set to move across the Bay to open the Chase Center for the 2019-20 season.
Oracle has been home to the Warriors for the last 47 years. It has experienced everything from a 1975 championship to some of the most dreadful losing seasons imaginable, and now the fifth year of a successful dynasty.
Since there are over 40 memories you could dive into here as the most memorable, we'll stick to just the Steve Kerr era. That only seems appropriate, considering this iteration of the franchise is the one that built the greatest success and it's the one closing out the building.
Before we get into the best moments from 2014-15 to 2018-19, it's worth taking a look at the year-by-year dominance. In the regular season, Golden State had a combined record of 173-32 (.844) at home. They outscored opponents by 11.6 points per 100 possessions on a sample size well over 20,000 possessions:
In the playoffs, they have still won nearly 82 percent of their home games with a net rating close to 11.
This season took a sour turn, however, as the Warriors started accumulating more bizarre home blowouts than ever before. Every East contender smashed them by 20-plus points and they developed a lazy turnover problem while playing in front of their home crowd.
With the final game coming soon, let's stroll through some of the individual games people should remember the most from the last five years in Oakland.
